Hi Brittany - I was very interested in your research prospectus concerning cultural issues and educational technology. The students that I teach come from different cultures such as Asian, African American, Caucasian, Mexican, and Indian. If I could combine the use of technology and incorporate their cultures into my lesson planning I believe I would be able to keep them engaged. I also understand that culture also involves the type of learners that we have. If we could get past the barriers we could reach all students.
Hi Brittany! I enjoyed your thorough analysis of your research prospectus that you and your group put together. I do have one question; roughly how many schools would you ideally like to participate in the study? I think it would be excellent as well as interesting to statistically analyze both the synchronous and asynchronous at the graduate and undergraduate level. The results of your study could easily be altered to the high school level, which I would really like read about (since I am a high school math teacher). Sometimes I feel if I could relate better to my students culturally, our relationship would grow, which ultimately would lead to them trying harder and strive for success. Unfortunately that is much easier said than done, especially when some students come from such hardships.
